Driving the Fox Crazy, by Mycroft Bunny ------- --- --- ----- ------- ----- Adam Fox wandered around the Looniversity campus, muttering to himself. "Story, story, story... need a story for the school newspaper. And I need it by tomorrow morning! Now where could I fi-" he was interrupted as he was bumped into from behind. He spun around. "WHAT?!" "Oops, sorry, didn't mean to bump into ya," said an orange rabbit, who had momenterily stopped playing tug-of-war with a blue duck over a camera strap. The duck looked apologetic as well, before realizing his opportunity, yanked the strap, and ran away with the camera. "Hey! no! I wanna take pictures!" shouted the rabbit, and ran off chasing the duck. Adam looked after the two, silently shaking his head from side to side. "Volunteers, I hate volunteers," he thought to himself. "You can't fire them." He looked around again, looking for *anything* that could possibly lead up to a story. Suddenly a shrill scream threatened to explode his ears, but he managed to cover them with his paws before any permanent damage occurred. He looked at the source of the scream, as a half-soaked pink rabbit ran accross the grassy field, being chased by a water pistol wielding blue bunny, who was still squirting her. Adam uncovered his ears as they both ran out of earshot. Suddenly, the gym off in the distance spontaneously exploded, sending sport equipment and surprised students flying everywhere, leaving a charred coyote in the middle of what was left of the gym, frozen in the act of trying to blow out a match. His attention focused on this spectacle, he had no warning has he was suddenly knocked over by a frantically fleeing feline. Slightly annoyed, he got back up on his feet, dusted off his trench coat, and got halfway through adjusting his hat when he was bowled over again, this time by a little red-haired girl, shouting "Come back Furrball! Mommy Elmyra isn't finished playing acupuncture yet!" Adam picked himself up again, and brushed off his trench coat, and - was knocked over again by the redhead coming from the opposite direction. This time he just decided it would be better if he just lied there face down in the grass. Just then a white loon levitated by, and noticed the fox lying there motionless on the ground. Her gaze wandered around, and fell upon the driver's ed parking lot nearby. "Oh, poor victim of technology! Why can the people not see the mondo evils they have inflicted upon the poor innocent furs of the world, or some junk?" She kneeled down and rested a hand on the "poor, victimized" fox. Adam quickly looked up. "Huh?" he said. Shirley screamed, and fainted. Her aura remained standing in her place, and said, "Pardon us, we've had a less-than-enlightening day." The pink outline of the loon dragged the fainted real loon off-camera. Adam picked himself up, and was about to brush off his trench coat when he was suddenly knocked over by the redhead again. The girl paused, lifted up the fox's hat, said to the now unconscious fox, "I forgot my net," giggled in that nails - on - chalkboard giggle of hers, and ran off shouting "Where are you Furrball?" A few moments later, he was approached by the rabbit and duck, both looking a little nervous. The duck suddenly stopped, said, "I changed my mind, I don't wanna tell him, you tell him!" and hid behind the rabbit. "No, I'm not gonna tell him Hudson! You're the one who did it, you tell him!" the rabbit exclaimed and hid behind the duck. "Er, uh, you know him better than I do Mycroft! He'll be less angry if you tell him!" Hudson said and hid behind Mycroft again. Mycroft sighed and said, "All right, I'll tell him." He catiously approached the fox, and lifted up his hat, revealing his X'd out eyes and tongue hanging limply from his mouth. "Er, uh..." he began. "That is, we, um..." he continued "No, not we, him!" he shouted and pointed at Hudson. He didn't notice as the fox's gaze failed to follow his pointing paw. "Um, he... uh," restarted the rabbit. "Broke?" offered the duck. "Yeah, Hudson broke the uh.. um.. that is to say, your, uh..." he stammered out. "Camera strap?" hinted Hudson. "Yeah, uh, your camera strap. Hope you're not mad," he finished. Hudson and Mycroft blinked a few times, waiting for an answer. Hudson poked Mycroft on the shoulder. "I think you gave him a heart attack or something. I'm gonna tell! You'll get in so much trouuuuuuuble!" "Hey! It's not my fault! You're the one who broke his camera strap!" "Er, that's right... I'M A MURDERER!" wailed the duck. "SHHHHHH!!!!! Someone'll hear you!" advised Mycroft. The two looked at the (still unmoving) fox for a few more moments. "Hey, aren't dead people supposed to smell?" he asked. Hudson, barely paying attention to what the rabbit had to say, nodded his head in agreement/disagreement/confusion. "Well, go see if he smells!" said Mycroft, and pushed the duck towards the body. Hudson looked hesitant. "You're the one who killed him! Now see if he smells!" Hudson nervously fumbled in a body pocket, and pulled out a loaf of fresh bread, and placed it in front of the fox's nose. "He's not smelling it Myke!" "I didn't mean that kind of smell! I mean, see if he stinks!" "EW! No way Myke!" shouted the duck, and hid behind the rabbit again. "Oh well, he's probably dead anyway. Let's go hide him somewhere before anyone sees us!" "You're so smart Myke! That way we won't get in trouble!" "Okay, here's how we'll do it. One of us can push, and the other one will pull, then we can hide him somewhere!" said Mycroft "Okay!" Hudson spat on his hands, rubbed them together, got behind the fox, and started pushing as hard as he could. After a few minutes, he said "I don't think this is going to work Myke, he's not moving!" He looked up over the (now squashed) fox to see Mycroft, also pushing as hard as he could. "Of course it's not going to work! You're doing it the wrong way! Let's do this again," said Mycroft. Hudson shrugged, turned around, took ahold of the foxtail, and started pulling. After walking about 20 feet, he said, "Yeah, this is working, he's moving!" "What?" shouted Mycroft. Hudson turned around, and saw the bunny about 40 feet away, tugging on the fox's ears. "I said, we must be doing it right this time, we're moving!" he shouted. "Well of course we're doing it right! It's *MY* idea, you know!" He suddenly looked up, and let go of Adam's ears in surprise. The fox sprung backwards, knocked into Hudson, and the both of them slammed into a nearby tree. Adam regained consdiousness, and said quite plainly, "Aaaaaaaaauuuuuuuugggggghhhhhhh!" "Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggg!!!!!" replaied Hudson. "Aaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiieeeeeee!!!!" corrected Adam. "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkk!!!!!!" questioned Hudson. "Yiiiiiiiiiiiiipe!!!!!!" confirmed Adam. "Huh?" said Mycroft. "No, no Myke. We're shouting here, not interjecting. If we were interjecting, though, I would reply with 'hmm?' or something." Mycroft blinked. "Erm?" Adam looked confused. "What?" he offered. Hudson added confidently, "eh?" "Huh?" said Mycroft. "No, that's not fair! You can't use the same one twice! That's cheating!" "STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" shouted Adam suddenly. "You two are driving me crazy! Just go away and leave me alone!!!!!!!" The two self-proclaimed photographers blinked. Hudson turned to Mycroft, and said, "Did I hear him say we just got some vacation time?" The rabbit smiled. "Yup! I think that's what he said all right!" Adam screamed one more time and ran off. "Gee, what a grouch," said Mycroft, as he and Hudson started fighting over the camera again. THE END
